Hay
Fever
As a
longtime hay fever sufferer myself, I searched
for ways to manage my own symptoms. Over
the years, I've discovered natural techniques
that have provided significant relief to
both me and my patients.
I now teach these techniques to patients
in a series of two classes.
Below is a natural technique you can try
immediately; my patients have found this
exercise to be very effective.
Dr. Chan's
Hay Fever "Stair" Exercise
This exercise is good for clearing congestion
(a major symptom of hay fever). It has been
very well received by my clients, especially
because it produces the immediate benefits
of Sudafed or Actifed without the actual
drug.
Find an available flight of stairs, and
just start climbing the stairs while holding
your breath. Usually the nose clears with
one flight. Otherwise, keep going up and
down until the nose clears.
Exercising while holding the breath produces
multiple benefits, even though most people
can hold their breath no more than one minute.
My experience is that only 10 percent of
patients need more than one flight to clear
the nose. Decongestion usually lasts a few
hours. Another set of this stair-climbing
exercise can prolong the benefits.
